MDF Shelving Use and Care Guide

Thank you for your purchase of a Hyman Inc. MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) Shelf. MDF is a wood composite material made of recycled and sustainable forest products. The MDF used to make this shelf meets CARB (California Air Resources Board) standards.

MDF is more durable than a lot of hard woods but it does not withstand from stains and damage from moisture and heat. You should take the same precautions in cleaning a MDF shelf as you would for any type of wood furniture.

Use and Care:

The outside of your MDF shelf is hard but the inside layers are soft. Handle the edges and corners of this shelf with care to prevent damage.

Cleaning:

You should take the same precautions in cleaning a MDF shelf you would for any type of wood. Use a slightly damp cloth to spot clean (if needed). Wipe dry with a clean dry cloth.

Weight Limit:

The weight limit will depend on the method used to mount your shelf. It is recommended that you hang at least one side of this shelf into a wall stud for a studier mount.
